Charles Lazarus and his band present The Modern Hymn Project, a collection of modern jazzy takes on traditional hymns and spiritual music for all seasons. These arrangements by former Prince keyboardist Tommy Barbarella will journey through musical styles ranging from spirituals and contemplative prayer songs to the grooves of New Orleans, the cool jazz era of Miles Davis and vibrant dance rhythms of Latin America.

The Lazarus Band will be joined by special guests including iconic vocalist Tonia Hughes Kendrick and trombonist Scott Agster, along with members of the Minnesota Orchestra and a special youth spotlight featuring young musicians from Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies and the St Philip the Deacon community.
